So….last night I did my hair.
To detangle I used a comb similar to the pink one in the top row. I did everything you’re supposed to do. I started from the bottom up, and used small sections, and yet STILL had a ton of 1/4 inch - 2 inch broken pieces of hair everywhere, after every section. On my hands, comb, and floor.
There are definitely sections of my hair that have no straight ends, but there are more portions that have about 1-2 inches of straight ends, and even some parts that have like 4 inches of straight ends. Though all of my ends are thin, I feel like the parts that have an inch or more straight ends are also uneven and suffer more significant breakage.
I mean, but I guess if I were to think about it…..
I’ve been growing out heat damage for 30 months!! That hair has been hanging with me for 2 1/2 years! Hair that was damaged, fine, and breakage prone from the start. So I guess I should be happy it lasted this long.
BUT that also means that I have 15 inches worth of hair that is not heat damaged. Haha saying it out loud definitely makes me proud. I started with a head literally FULL of heat damaged hair, and now I only have a small bit left.
Bottom line? I’m nervous lol I really am terrified as to what my hair is going to look like when I straighten next. But, it’s just hair. If I have a setback I’ll get a good trim and keep it moving lol.
Peace.
